EatFirst and Positive East

We recognised that as a food company, we could make a difference to the London community. So we teamed up with Positive East to organise a daily delivery of our meals to them; we’ve now donated over 100, so felt it was a good opportunity to explain a little more about how it works and Positive East as a charity.

What are Positive East?

Positive East are London’s largest community-based HIV charity. For over 20 years, they have offered emotional and physical support to people living with and affected by HIV in East London. They provide the opportunity for these people to fulfil their potential, free of discrimination. Many of the service users are volunteers from gardening to cooking and personal trainers! As well as offering support groups and an advice line, this charity also provides a gym, internet and phone access, a creche, cafe and garden.

How can I get involved?

The fantastic fundraisers that support Positive East are not to be missed! These varied events help bring awareness to HIV in London, plus helps put vital funds into key areas of the charity. From Positive East’s World AIDS Day Red Run, to trekking up Kilimanjaro!

What are EatFirst doing for Positive East?

Our meals are blast chilled, then whisked away to Positive East HQ to their volunteer head chef, Richard, who works his magic. He includes parts of the EatFirst meals in large portions of his own dishes, to ensure all can enjoy a healthy and wholesome lunch!

The work that Positive East does and the service they offer is truly remarkable; giving men living with HIV somewhere to go, someone to talk to and activities to fill their day. We’re incredibly proud to be associated with such an inspiring organisation and hope that this has given you a little insight into the great, charitable work that is going on in London!
