Unlike other high street grocery stores, Eat 17 pride themselves on their unique selection of products. Their focus on stocking smaller local brands, artisan products and becoming a more sustainable supermarket is what makes them unlike your average store.
They have put a huge emphasis on cutting back unnecessary product packaging. In store, there are beer taps where you can refill your own growlers. Nuts, pulses and grains are all available to ‘pick’n’mix’ as well as vegetables laid out like a farmers market. Customers are encouraged to bring their own containers to collect the ingredients they want, saving on unnecessary plastic use.
Eat 17 feature a wonderful array of small batch, artisan products. That’s everything from Kombucha made in Dalston to fresh crab from Cornwall. The aisles of the store feel carefully curated and lovingly put together almost like a museum of the most exciting brands on the market.
TOUCH OF THEIR OWN FLAVOUR
Eat17 also have their own ranges of spices, sandwiches and condiments which are reasonably priced and packaged with minimal plastic use in mind.
GO FOR A PINT OF MILK AND STAY FOR DINNER AND DRINKS
In one corner of the store, there’s a cocktail bar, coffee shop and a selection of street food stalls. Your weekly grocery shop could easily go from a quick 5 minute trip to a whole hour browsing (we’ve seen it first hand), eating, drinking and hanging out.
When we say this is more than just a supermarket, we really mean it. Eat 17 are trying to build a community and not just be somewhere you buy groceries.
EATFIRST X EAT 17
